The First Time I Heard… Cocteau Twins
Last year we were approached by US author Scott Heim to contribute to a series of books about the first time of hearing some iconic musicians. Antony has written a piece for Scott about the first time he heard the Cocteau Twins and the book has just been released on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and coming soon on iTunes.
Find out more on this book and the others in the series (Joy Division/New Order, David Bowie, Kate Bush & The Smiths) on Facebook… and watch this space for news on Robin’s piece.
The First Time I Heard…
Something pretty exciting happened to us last year: Scott Heim, author of Mysterious Skin, invited us to contribute to a project called “The First Time I Heard…” in which we (and other musicians and writers) describe the first time we heard certain bands for the very first time. There are 5 books covering David Bowie, The Cocteau Twins, Kate Bush, The Smiths and Joy Division/New Order…
Scott plans to release them as e-books in May, but needs support with editing, layout, art-work and publishing: he’s created a Kickstarter project that will hopefully help fund that work.
We can’t wait to read each other’s essays (we’ve kept them secret so far) and all the contributions from the amazing line-up of artists, every little helps – you can read all about the project here:

If you also think it’s a fantastic project, re-posts & tweets would be really appreciated!
Christina Vantzou No.1 DVD + Remixes
We’ve just had an email from Christina to say that the No.1 DVD and Remixes set will be released on January 23rd and is available for pre-order now, the digital version is ready for download from Bandcamp today.
We’ve been lucky to have had copies of the DVD for a couple of months – it’s a beautiful film with Christina’s No.1 as the soundtrack… and we’re really happy to have been able to contribute to the remix collection on the accompanying CD.
